Sure you care about your girlfriend. You think she’s awesome. There are a million little things about her that you love. When you’re with her or thinking about her you just feel different than with other girls. But how is she supposed to know any of this if you don’t tell her?
You want to make your compliments count. They need to be genuine and unique. The guy who constantly showers his girlfriend in affection not only makes everyone else around him want to vom, but might spoil her so much that she takes him for granted. So what are you supposed to say when you want to make her feel appreciated? HUSH is here to help.
Don’t just drool. Try and stay away from physical features at first. For most of their lives girls are complimented on their appearance first – it even starts as little girls. Just telling her how good she looks is something she has heard a lot. Plus at times she might wonder if you’re complimenting her because you care or if you’re complimenting her because you want to have sex with her. Try something not physical to show her that you’re amazed by her – not just her body.
Pay attention instead. Look for something unique about her that makes you smile. It’s the little things that send us head over heels for someone special. Recently a friend informed me that the main reason she stayed with a guy was because he told her he thought the way she kept all her food close to her mouth when she ate was cute. Another girl fell for a guy who just absolutely adored the way she sneezed. Everyone likes feeling that their subtle features shine through to someone that matters. Pick something out and show her she matters.
You still need to tell her she looks great. Just because you should strive to tell her there are other amazing things about her doesn’t mean you should abandon commenting on her beauty. She still likes to be told that she’s beautiful. She still wants to know that you’re physically attracted to her. And she likes to feel like she is pretty. If there is any evidence of her making effort on a specific occasion, your first move must be to tell her how good she looks. You noticing and making a positive comment makes her feel special for doing so.
Talk about the two of you. A fun part of finding someone special is knowing that you make them feel special. Don’t just tell her how great she is, also mention how great she makes you feel! It’s not just a self-esteem boost, but a boost to the relationship the two of you have as well.
