From Roger: At a party, what do I say to a girl to get her alone with me? There’s gotta be a better way than “come with me/come upstairs with me”.
H.U.S.H. Response:
Try any of these:
-It’s really loud in here. I could use some air. Do you want to come with?
If there is something you find even remotely interesting/funny/strange, find her and show her.
-You have to come see this!
Or if you haven’t done that yet…
-I want to see what else is in this house. Come explore with me.
If no one is near the kitchen that’s another good place to go.
-I’m feeling a little hungry. I need some cover while we raid the fridge. Let’s go.
Pick some place else to go and give a good reason why the two of you should go.
-I’m having a lot of fun talking to you but this music is getting to me. Do you want to go _______?
-You want to sit down somewhere?
Then recommend somewhere else to sit that just so happens to be a little more private.
“Come with me,” isn’t necessarily a bad option, however. Done with confidence this will be more than enough. Look her in the eye, smile, lightly touch her (either like you are about to guide her by the small of her back or grab her hand or just lightly touch her elbow) and say, “come with me.” Be coy – act like it is a surprise or something.
No matter what it is you say, however, the most important thing is to be aware of and respectful of her boundaries and what she’s interested in once you two are alone. Her agreeing to go with doesn’t tell you how far she wants to go, it just gives you a clue that she might be interested. Keep up a dialogue to check in. If you start anything be sure to ask if it’s okay and if she wants to. And if there is alcohol involved, s l o w d o w n. It will be harder for the two of you to communicate your limits.
Hope some of this helps.
